The author pack

The author pack runs a lab on your own computer. You change the lab and try it again there, as many times as you need. You publish it when it is ready.

The lab's machine is a virtual machine, a computer that runs inside yours. Linux runs that machine through KVM. KVM is the part of Linux that starts a virtual machine, and your account needs to be allowed to use it. The pack runs on Linux amd64. Its installer uses apt, the package installer on Debian and Ubuntu, so the computer should be one of those.

The pack is a download. The next page installs it. The pages after that walk through the examples that come in the download, and then you write a lab of your own.

A short page inside the pack repeats the download and the commands. This manual is the longer course.
